Eliq Appoints Åke Lundén as New Chairman of the Board

Swedish customer engagement specialist Eliq, appoints Åke Lundén as New Chairman of the Board to scale up and grow into new markets across Europe.

Gothenburg, Sweden (April 18^th, 2018) – Eliq AB announced today that Åke Lundén has been elected new Chairman of the Board at the annual general meeting. Åke will focus on scaling up the company’s customer engagement platform for energy utilities in both new and existing markets across Europe.

Åke succeeds Joakim Ottander, the original founder of Eliq, who will remain a director but dedicate more time to his operational role as Head of Business Development at Eliq.

Eliq is currently undergoing rapid growth including a European expansion with new representations in London and Paris. The company sees a clear market potential in energy suppliers gaining a comprehensive understanding of their customers’ energy consumption pattern.

Eliq offers a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) platform via an engaging mobile app that help households to monitor, understand and optimise their home energy usage. Using a combination of machine-learning analytics and data from smart meters, internet-of-things (IoT) devices and online environmental data, the app provides the user with real-time energy insights. Utilities using Eliq’s platform are typically seeing improved customer loyalty and a stronger digital relationship on a daily basis, as compared to sending paper energy bills at the end of the month. The smart meter data crunched by Eliq also allows better customer segmentation and cross-selling opportunities.

In the past 12 months, Eliq has been getting significant attention from utilities across Europe. To take advantage of this positive momentum the company is now deploying funds from the recent funding round to strengthening the team and scale aggressively.

Åke brings exceptional experience from twenty years of entrepreneurship, in helping build numerous successful Business-to-Business (B2B) companies. Amongst other achievements, Åke founded Benify, a company that revolutionised the Human Resources (HR) industry and grew from 3 to 300 employees . He is currently involved in a number of other companies as a director, including QuizRR AB, Enqlare and Doktor.se.
